A people focused leader who believes in seeking input from those most affected by government’s decisions. Scott has spent more than 16 years in public service leading the development and maintenance of inspection and services aimed at protecting and promoting occupational health and safety in workplaces across Nova Scotia. A graduate of Dalhousie University’s Engineering and Master of Science Programs, Scott is a Professional Engineer and a Registered Canadian Safety Professional.
Scott has held many government positions over the years. He’s worked as an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Officer, Regional Director with the OHS Division, Senior Director of Inspection and Compliance, Executive Director of Agriculture Operations and most recently as Senior Executive Director of the Safety Branch where he leads the Safety Branch of the Nova Scotia Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration, focusing on a range of workplace safety and technical safety activities that keep Nova Scotians safe where they work, live and play.
