Gregory Anderson

Part-time Professor & Owner, Workplace Psychological Research

Gregory is a PhD candidate in the Industrial-Organizational Psychology program at Saint Mary’s University, a part-time professor in their Department of Psychology, and the owner of Workplace Psychological Research Inc. Greg’s research focuses primarily on how individual differences in worker motivation, empathy and personality relate to work outcomes such as burnout, work effort, commitment, person-job fit, job performance and turnover intentions. Additionally, Greg has expertise in a statistical procedure known as latent profile analysis (LPA), which is a person-centered approach to data analysis that allows workers to be grouped into specific psychological profiles or ‘types’ based on their pattern of responding to specific psychological variables (e.g., motivation, empathy). This line of inquiry has formed the basis of his published research and is a core service offered at his company. By using LPA to explore the most (and least) optimal types of workers via scientifically validated profiles, Greg is committed to helping organizations identify the best workers for the job. Greg’s latest research focuses on how specific leader behaviours relate to follower wellbeing. Specifically, he has developed a scale to assess toxic positivity in leaders and its correlation with employee stress, anxiety and turnover intentions.
